I’m back to writing a bit, but it’s slow going for the time being.  Still haven’t quite had that spark I need to really get going.  I am writing, but nothing really worth reporting at the moment.

Finally achieved the goals I wanted to in Dragon Quest IX.  I was shooting for beating the game ( obviously ), completing all the side quests, and completing my defeated monster list.  With all of that done, I feel like I can put the game aside for a while and start trying to get some words back on paper again.

There’s still lots of stuff I can do in the game — completing my wardrobe, alchemy, item list, max out all vocations, etc., but I’m going to leave that for some other time when I need a writing break.  The nice thing about this game is that it’s designed to always have several goals you can be working on, so you never really feel like you’re grinding.  You may be shooting toward one goal, but end up getting some things done on another that you weren’t even aiming for yet.  Great game, and I can’t wait for the DQ6 reprise on the DS.

Now, to look at what I have sitting on the hard drive and in the sheet of notes I’ve been carrying around and adding to at work to see what I feel like writing on.

Yeah, I’m completely vegetating on Dragon Quest IX.  Great game.

I’ve said it before, but everything goes back to RPG games.  My writing comes from my PnP RPG, and that comes from video games.  Sometimes, I have to go back to my roots for a few weeks and just have fun with no deadlines, plot problems, or fussy characters refusing to come on set.

I’m still hoping to finish that Halloween story, but I’m not going to push it.  Fighting the writing blahs has proved to be the worst thing I can do in the past.

Being off the computer long enough for my back to quit aching has gotten me out of the habit, so it’s taking me a while to get back on the writing horse.

There’s just nothing singing to me right now.  I’m musing at work, but just nothing coming on strong.  Once I get a solid inspiration, I should be able to get rolling again.  Until I manage that, I’m in a bit of a rut =P

Taking a couple of days off because my back is killing me.  Trying to sit at the computer for very long is unpleasant, to say the least.
