Mission Accomplished

Finally achieved the goals I wanted to in Dragon Quest IX.  I was shooting for beating the game ( obviously ), completing all the side quests, and completing my defeated monster list.  With all of that done, I feel like I can put the game aside for a while and start trying to get some words back on paper again.

There’s still lots of stuff I can do in the game — completing my wardrobe, alchemy, item list, max out all vocations, etc., but I’m going to leave that for some other time when I need a writing break.  The nice thing about this game is that it’s designed to always have several goals you can be working on, so you never really feel like you’re grinding.  You may be shooting toward one goal, but end up getting some things done on another that you weren’t even aiming for yet.  Great game, and I can’t wait for the DQ6 reprise on the DS.

Now, to look at what I have sitting on the hard drive and in the sheet of notes I’ve been carrying around and adding to at work to see what I feel like writing on.

If you like fantasy rpgs, you might want to try dragon age from Bioware. They made the best rpgs I know. Just a suggestion.

I’ll keep it in mind =) I really enjoyed the original Neverwinter Nights, and I was always a fan of the Might and Magic series, but I rarely look at the PC RPGs. I’m more of a jRPG gamer ( which is why the last several Final Fantasy games have left me flat )

That is a shame, as there are many great RPGs for PC, but then I don’t know about your specs and an older PC, say over three years old, will need an upgrade before the newer Bioware games run. And Bioware is pretty much the only one really making good RPGs these days. Blizzard went of the shallow end with WoW (no story at all discernible (me puking)) 🙂 and most others copy Blizzard because they are to damn big for their own good.
