And today…

Didn’t really get any sleep last night.  For some reason, I just couldn’t get my brain to shut off.

So, I’m too tired to forge forward on anything tonight, but I really expected that anyway.  I knew I was going to watch Iron Man III, so I wasn’t going to have any wind-down time.  Thrown no sleep on top of that and…  Yeah.

I did get my new printer cartridges, though.  That let me finish the corner image for the “Misc.” page of the “My Worlds” section.  About all that’s left to do on that page now is to slap the link to the “Danica’s Dance” mp3 on there.  There really isn’t any other miscellaneous stuff right now.

Other than that, I’m probably not going to get much done tonight other than trying to get this child of mine to go to bed so my exhausted hinder can get in bed as well.

As I believe I said earlier, I just need to add a few more characters to that database and a few more maps to that one before I think I’ve got enough for a launch of the Worlds section.  From there, I’ll be able to add new stuff with my backend tools easily, whenever I have time or there are special requests.

Getting back on track

Got a new car over the weekend, checking one thing off the list that was eating up my time when I wasn’t at work.  The money I’ll save on gas will probably offset the increased insurance payment. (’99 vs. ’12 )  Damn car was using a quarter tank a day near the end.  The new one is getting somewhere around 35-38 mpg.

The money I’m not spending on constant repairs ( went extended warrenty to 100k ) will probably offset the car payments for a while :p  Gas tank, radiator, heater core, wheel bearings, serpentine belt… it was something else failing every month or so for the last year or two.  Not to mention four free oil changes plus discounted regular service of several types for quite a while on wear and tear typs stuff.

All in all, I may not even notice the added costs of the new car *laugh*

Not to mention that my hours are still up around that 50 per week range ( vs. an average of 34-40 for the last several years ) with no real end in sight.  It looks like we probably are out of the weeks pushing 60 for a while, but that could change come summer.

I’m finally adjusting to the increased hours ( or where we are now is the limits of my endurance vs. where we’ve been for the last couple of months ) and feeling awake enough to do things once I get home from work ( such as typing this )

I wrote an opening for an Earth Day story in the Magic of the Wood series yesterday, though I think I’m probably going to start the story in a different place.  Even if I completely scrap what I wrote, at least I wrote something *laugh*  That’s vast progress compared to the recent past.

I’m alert and don’t feel like I’ve been run over a truck right now, so that’s a good thing.  Probably going to start opening up some unfinished stories/chapters and see if anything is inspiring me.

Long hours killin’ me

All of the sudden, I’ve gone from the norm from the last 4 years of 34-36 hours a week to 50-60, and needless to say, I’m not adjusting very quickly.

It just has me constantly beat down and half asleep.  I’ll adjust eventually, but for now, I’m just a vegetable by the time I get home.

On top of that, my car just died ( it gave me 300k miles, so I can’t really complain ) so what little bit of time I do have before I pass out I have to use to try to find a decent used car.  The market isn’t exactly good around here.  Nobody has been able to afford new cars for years, so there aren’t very many used cars from the last five years or so to choose from.

For now, pretty much everything is on hold by necessity.  I don’t think anybody would want to see anything I wrote in this zombie state I’m constantly in anyway 😛

How’s the week going?

Remember how I said that I didn’t know how this week at work was going to go?

I’ll be on overtime by first break tomorrow.

Yeah, it’s sucked 😛

Still have Friday off, though.  Just would have rather had time to write and finish it earlier, so I could have relaxed and edited this weekend.
