Pretty much decided

Well, I’ve pretty much decided that I’m going to go ahead with posting new chapters.  Mind you, I won’t be posting them in rapid succession.  I only have 4 chapters beyond what’s posted complete, so I’m going to string them out a bit.  How long, I’m not sure.  It will depend upon various things.

No matter what, SOTM Ch. 14 should be coming out fairly soon.  I’m working on the final read and edit before I send it off to my editor.

Still working on Heart of the Wood, though it’s slow going.

Still have a large chunk of that Mindblind history story ( Lowborn ) done, and just need to finish the damn thing.  Once that one’s done, I’m fairly certain that the sequel to Blackhawk Hall will be my next project in the Nobles by Deed series.

Okay, back to Heart for a while.  It’s reasonably quiet ( by usual standards, anyway ) so I’m going to see how far I can get.

Restarted Heart

The more I worked with rewriting the original story, the less right it felt.  I was writing it for Valentines, and it was just too romance oriented to work.  So, I’ve started over on a blank page.

That’s not to say that some of the scenes I’ve already written can’t be used.  Odds are that more than one of them will make it in.  I just needed to truly start from scratch and see where the story goes with the Earth Day angle as the primary focus.

Feel free to continue chiming in on the previous post.

Considering something

Not a lot of people come here, but I hope at least a few might see this.

I’m considering releasing some of the finished chapters of SOTM, even though it will mean that there’s probably going to be more long lapses between chapters in the future.

Thoughts?

Still working on Heart — slowly.  Work is still being a pain in the ass.

Working on Heart

Yeah, I decided to stick with Heart as the title.  I’ve gone through and rewritten what I had completed to change the season, so I’m back to where I left off when I gave up on finishing it for Valentines.

Now I’ve got to figure out the new direction it’s going to go from there to the ending ( which will be more or less the same, except on Earth Day instead of V-Day )

Time to side-shift

Well, just couldn’t get Heart done in time for the contest.  Too much going on and my head just wasn’t in the right place to write quickly enough.  So, I’m going to try to side-shift the story into this year’s Earth Day tale.

What sucks is that I’d already finished the cover and had my heart set on a late winter story.  Snow on the cover, a snowstorm that brings the characters together, etc.  Just won’t work in the Wood universe with a move to late April.  I’ve established the climate as very warm for the Earth Day season in the area.  Really liked the snow idea, but my enjoyment of these two characters is trumping that.  Maybe I’ll work on the snow idea with some other characters for Winter Holiday or Valentine’s next year.

Odds are that I’ll end up changing the title when I figure it out, because I’d really like to have “Heart” for a Valentine story some day.

Now I’ve got to figure out how to center more on Earth Day.  The original was more of a love story for the V-Day theme, and I’ve got to conservation it up now.

Sitting here puzzling, because I really can’t afford to let the upcoming deadline slip by like this one did.

As frustrating as it is for readers ( especially on stories like SOTM, which I am still tinkering with and musing — sometimes writing new scenes ) to wait on me, it’s even more frustrating for me.  I used to be able to pump out scenes pretty quickly, and it’s all I can do to get a paragraph down for the last couple of years.  Having your life turned upside down will do that to you *sigh*

Anyway, back to musing.  I really need to get these characters moved to Earth Day and get their story flowing.
