Figured I’d better drop a quick note.
Got caught up in another creative drought. I’m still fiddling with things here and there, but not really feeling any spark.
When I hit one of these slumps, I’ve learned not to fight it. I make tentative forays into different stories, but don’t push too hard. When I do, it just gets worse and lasts longer.
Eventually, I’ll have an idea that refuses to let me go, and that’s usually the spark for forward momentum.
That story I had in mind as Les for the Halloween contest just didn’t want to come together.
Most likely, it’s because I’ve hit another motivation wall. Finding it difficult to open up WordPerfect again. I’ve been looking for a distraction to keep me occupied for a while, but with limited success. Many times in the past, that’s been all that got me through one of these slumps.
I do have an idea or two and quite a few stories in progress, though. I’m going to fiddle with those a little today and see if that can spark me. Sometimes I do just come out of these slumps by simply opening WordPerfect and getting some words on paper.
No way I have time to finish “The Man I Used to Be” for this year. Guess I’ll file it away in the half-baked folder with “Within Steven” – another dark Halloween story I’ve fiddled with in a couple of previous years.
I just started posting Merchant Princess over at Lushstories ( in my RR name ) after a few previous false starts of having a mod check the content. First chapter is up, and the other five are approved to appear one per day. There are ways you can cheat and read them all now, though 😉 ( similar stories link at the end of the chapters )

I don’t expect it to get many reads, but hope that the few who do take a walk with me in that world on Lush enjoy it as much as I do.
In other news, I’m working on a dark story as Les for the Lit Halloween contest. It’s called “The Man I Used to Be”. Have an idea for a new Laresa story as well. Here’s hoping I have time to write it and that it doesn’t stall on me like the idea I had for Christmas last year did. It’s been a long time since the last Laresa’s World tale.
It was a long day at work yesterday, so I didn’t manage to get this here when I updated it everywhere else. Friend of the Wood is live in the Literotica Summer Lovin’ contest!
I just put it in the queue at Storiesonline, so it should post there soon. SOL readers can feel free to get a sneak peek and vote for me in the contest at Lit, though 😉

As long as there isn’t a contest posting snafu, it should be up tomorrow morning, so keep your eyes open! Odds are that I won’t have enough time to do the announcements between when it posts and when I have to leave for work
