So much for update frequency

I’ve been fighting a couple of stories in my third pen name *laugh*

One of them eventually worked out, and it’s performing well above and beyond expectations.  The other…  I’m pretty much going to give up on it if I don’t have a major brainstorm before the day is out.

And now, to see if I can update wordpress without crashing it *groan*

For some reason, I have a hell of a time getting the updates to work.  If the site goes for a while, it will be back up in fairly short order.

EDIT:  Well, whadda ya know?  Less than a minute later, I’m updated without a hitch. 😀

Apologies for the lack of updates

First it was my downtime vegetating, and now it’s more or less laziness *laugh*

I’m working on something, but it’s not coming easy.  I’ve rewritten the opening once already, and I’m about to do it again.  Sad thing is that it’s just a stroker for my third pen name, and I can’t get the setup moving.

Good thing I’m not trying for something more involved for getting started again, eh?

Happy Thanksgiving, BTW.

I’ll try to keep up better, and hopefully have something to report before too much longer ( for the handful of people who actually pop in =P )

Slow, but going

I’m back to writing a bit, but it’s slow going for the time being.  Still haven’t quite had that spark I need to really get going.  I am writing, but nothing really worth reporting at the moment.

Gearing up

Decided to relax for a day, mull over some ideas for the winter contest at Lit, and gear up a little before I pick my pen up again.

I have a feeling that I’m going to completely rewrite the last chapter of Lowborn.  There’s just something wrong about it, and that’s what’s keeping me from proceeding.  I’m going back to a scene near the beginning and nuking it, going on from there.  Might very well eliminate a chapter from the series as well, since a certain confrontation will now happen in this chapter.

Anyway, guess my break’s over once I get home from work tomorrow.

Mission Accomplished

Finally achieved the goals I wanted to in Dragon Quest IX.  I was shooting for beating the game ( obviously ), completing all the side quests, and completing my defeated monster list.  With all of that done, I feel like I can put the game aside for a while and start trying to get some words back on paper again.

There’s still lots of stuff I can do in the game — completing my wardrobe, alchemy, item list, max out all vocations, etc., but I’m going to leave that for some other time when I need a writing break.  The nice thing about this game is that it’s designed to always have several goals you can be working on, so you never really feel like you’re grinding.  You may be shooting toward one goal, but end up getting some things done on another that you weren’t even aiming for yet.  Great game, and I can’t wait for the DQ6 reprise on the DS.

Now, to look at what I have sitting on the hard drive and in the sheet of notes I’ve been carrying around and adding to at work to see what I feel like writing on.
