That’s the last of them

I updated the covers for King Thakkorias, ARS 09, and ARS 14.  I decided to leave Thricegiving and The Offering alone, as they’re close enough to the size I’m currently using, and the clarity of the images/text looks fine.  I might tweak the text on Adam’s Family and Adam’s Apple, but otherwise, I think I’ll leave them alone as well.

Feeling good about that, I just jumped back into the final short of the Devan trilogy.  I’m going to try to see about finishing it today, and then looking into Lowborn.  I want to finish the first draft of that story, dammit!

Trying to keep the feeling of accomplishment going, because it seems to have a positive effect on my muse.

More coming

If you check out the forum, there are some previews of sections from “My Worlds”.  I’ve recently built the database and utilities for Maps, roughed out the pages for “Danica Info” and “Characters”, and planned out the database for “Characters”.

I’ve also written on Lowborn, SOTM, and Devan:Deflowered between cranking out code.  Devan will probably be the first thing done, just because it’s a lot less involved writing.  Damn plots!  *laugh*

Got the problem with the forum fixed and picked up the first comments on the two new shorts.  If you missed it, make sure to check out the “Shorts” link on the main page.  Two new early Devan stories in the Arts Ardane series that are exclusive to the website, with another coming to complete a trilogy.

Now, I’m going to chill for a little while and take a nap before I have to go get the young one.  With the forum fix no longer nagging at me, maybe I can get some serious writing done.

Luck with me

Attracted the attention of one of the gurus on the support forum, and I have two different solutions.  Both will take care of the problem, but one is more elegant and has long-term benefits, including teaching me a new way to manipulate the base code of the underlying software without actually modifying it — making upgrades simple and painless.

There’s a learning curve, but that’s the way I’m going.  It will take more time in the now, but save a lot more in the future.

In addition, I got some writing done on Lowborn last night and this morning.  Brought it back up to 1500 words after the backspace, and I’m back to where the final action of the story takes place again.  Should encourage me to get back at it this evening after I get home from work.

Had a flash of inspiration that I love as well.  It has ties to the first chapter of the story, the title, and even makes a plot point easier to deliver.

Tickled with that, and irritation at the end of the story not working out the way I wanted was what had slowed me down writing, so that most certainly will give me a boost.

Okay, got to get ready for work.  I’m in major muse mode, so I’ll be taking advantage of that on the drive and during the first tedious couple of hours of work, where I don’t have much to do physically or mentally.  Most of my job is crammed into the middle of the day — fast and furious.
