Right around the 6k word mark on Secret. I’m about to hit the main meat of the story leading to the resolution ( and the sex ) now.
Forever of the Wood was around 14k words, and I suspect that this installment will probably be somewhere around there, which puts me near the halfway mark.
That’s a couple thousand words tonight, and I may yet write more after a break. ( I should really be going to bed, though. The boy has been out for a couple of hours, and he’s going to be up awfully early if I don’t crash soon )
It feels so good to write. I wish I could keep this going all the time like I used to.
Up to 4k words on Secret of the Wood. Not sure how long it’s going to be yet, but it’s not going to be a short story by any stretch of the imagination *laugh*
Working on other stuff here and there as well. Did a little tweaking to SOTM 16, a bit of writing on Lowborn, and some other tidbits. Did a bit of musing about another history tale for Nobles by Deed, highlighting a character that hasn’t had much “screen time” thusfar — Sagittariad. I think that he’s only popped up in a brief cameo in SOTM with a single line. I’ve had a Geflon story running around in my head for a while, as well as a Darkni one. One of these days, I’ll get all the intro stories for the nobles together, and then it will be time to launch into the grand adventure that led to the freedom of Egoria.
Still need to get the sequel to Blackhawk off the ground, too.
Anyway, I’m writing — just not at lightning speed. I’ll probably never have as much time/motivation again as I used to, but I have to write.
Read back through what I’d written on Secret of the Wood and decided that there was just something wrong with it. I can’t quite put my finger on it, but the flow is just off.
Decided to start it all over. It’s more or less the same, but I’m taking out the re-intros of a couple of characters, compressing the setup of the main conflict, boosting the Earth Day connection, and getting to my main protagonist earlier.
Back to it.
