First draft of Queen is done, clocking in at about 9600 words. I’ll put it aside for a couple of days to simmer, and then come back to it for a cold read.
I’ll be working on something else in the meantime, depending upon what story is calling out to me. Considering the time, I’d best wind down and get my butt in bed. I had no idea it was nearly 3 am. 6:30 is going to come awfully early in the morning.
Almost done with my first draft of Queen. Only a couple of scenes left to go, now. I’m confident enough that I’ll finish it to add it to my sig at Lit now, and I’m getting excited about trying to get Whispers of the Wood rolling as well. I’d really love to get that one written and in the contest too.
Off to clean up the young one’s toys, and then a little relax time. I’ll probably write a bit more before I head out to the store to stock up for the week.
You can see from where I was this morning that Queen is going pretty well. I’m finally up to the first sex scene ( yes, I said first 😉 ) This one is a bit subdued and centered more on emotion than lust, so I’ll probably be able to write on it in bits and pieces during the day while the young one is awake.
He’s currently content to tear apart his tower from earlier and construct… I don’t know what to call it — a wand? Just a long string of K’nex parts. Anyway, he wants something to eat on occassion, but he’s otherwise engaged playing by himself.
Making up a little for missing days in the blog, huh? *laugh* Off for a few minutes to relax, and then back to my pen.
Working on Queen right now. I’m back up to 3900 words again, and moving through the romantic part of the scene. I’ll get to the sex after Thakkor has warmed her up *laugh* I’m busy exploring the tropical setting right now.
Also working on that third pen name story when I can ( which means when the boy is asleep, because there’s nothing left on that one but the sex )
Just tried deactivating that stat counter to alleviate the server problem with the website, and no luck. It’s obviously something related to my host, so I’m going to have to get off my ass and contact them, I guess. I’ve tried the automatic update to WordPress about five times now, and that server issue gets in the way every time.
(If you see a “down for maintainence” page, that’s what’s happening. When the update progresses to a certain point before crashing, it activates that, and then deactivates it after a certain amount of time when the update fails )
If it continues to be a pain in the ass, I’ll do it the hard way and manually update the damn thing later on today.
Off to chill for a few minutes because the young one is throwing a fit for reasons I haven’t yet been able to fathom. Sometimes, he just has tantrums with no obvious trigger, and little wayto discover why he’s upset. I’ll get my nerves settled and then try to find something to amuse him, to get him out of whatever funk he’s in.
