Puzzled out the order of those scenes while musing today at work. I came home, edited the end of the last scene I’d written to accomodate things, and then took a nap :p
I’m going to read for a while and wind down, because shortly after figuring that out, my day at work went to hell. I’m one of those people who can’t stand to see things done with a complete lack of intelligence, and my boss was demonstrating staggering amounts of asshattery today. For the sake of shaving maybe a half hour off the day ( Gotta cut that overtime! ) we pretty much screwed up every load sent out with stuff out of sequence, ran everyone like dogs during a heat advisory, and just generally produced a completely unacceptable level of quality control by necessity of the ludicrous speed he was attempting to run.
For some reason, he can’t seem to comprehend that light speed, grind to a halt, light speed, grind to a halt has a center point that gets you to the same place without fucking up order quality in the process — despite having been provided with regular examples of exactly that truth.
It’s hard to say whether they hire idiots, or whether the morning ops meetings ( which cannot be interrupted for operational problems — even complete shutdowns ) steadily suck their brains out of their asses, but something is obviously going on.

Anyhow, I’m going to read for a while, then probably make the final tweaks on Queen, get it off for editing, and see if the young one is going to either go to sleep or at least chill enough ( if he remains uninterested in my company :p ) to let me get to work on those freshly aligned scenes of Kindred.
