Didn’t make the contest, but…

Didn’t make it in time for the contest, but I’m continuing His Christmas Wish to release as a regular story.  The pressure of the deadline on top of my increased hours at work and my car being a pain in the ass requiring service on the days I had scheduled off was just making it too difficult.

Without that deadline looming over me, I can relax a bit more on my days off and work on it.

Naturally, I’m also working on SOTM and Lowborn when I’m awake enough.  As always, apologies for the delays.  Not much I can do.  My muse and my energy are beyond my control.

Make that 6400

Up to 6400 on the new Laresa story.  I’m not far away from the turning point of the story, which rapidly moves into the heat.

Monday is likely to be a nightmare at work.  Spillover from Thanksgiving.  Beyond that, I’m not sure what it’s going to be like.  The one thing I do know is that I’m off Friday 🙂

Still hoping to finish it before then, though.  I’d like to get it done in time to let it simmer before I do my first pass edit, and then have plenty of time to pass it to Roust for a release on the 6th, the next to the last day of the contest submission period.

After that, I’m absolutely jumping back to Lowborn and SOTM.  If I have a really good idea for Valentine’s, I’ll write it, but otherwise, those two and planning for the next Earth Day Magic of the Wood have priority.

4k on Laresa

About to put my two protagonists in their new ‘home’ for the biggest part of the story.  That’s when the story is going to start simmering toward a boil 😉

Still flowing nicely.  It’s fun writing Laresa again, even if she’s serving a nearly supporting role to the two main characters.

Up to 2600 on Laresa

Got to work on “His Christmas Wish” today, and the new Laresa story is moving nicely.

I just finished putting one protagonist in place, and the second will be along any moment.  A few paragraphs will put them both where they need to be for the story to unfold.

With three more days off ahead of me — one of which will be full quiet time with the young one off at his grandparents — I should be able to make nice progress.

Yep, getting there.

The direction I’m going now with Lowborn is feeling right.  Have a big fight, a reveal, and a big character development point all coming together in this one scene.  Maybe I’ve finally got it right.

Center Piece is also up to 3k words, though I have no idea how close to finished that is.  Mainly, that’s because the sex scenes of which I still have one and a half to go, tend to evolve on the fly.  Never have any idea how long one of them is going to last, and the second one is going to be a doozy.

Beyond that, there’s only a few brief scenes between the naugty bits that build up the tension and set up the ending.  If I can find enough quiet time, I hope to finish it soon.

The Laresa story still feels perfect every time I write a little of it.  I’m trying to concentrate on Lowborn and Center Piece, though.  The first, because I’m so damned close.  The second because it’s Thanksgiving themed and the Laresa story is Christmas themed.  Makes sense to finish the one before the other there.

My muse still draws me to write a little of Laresa or SOTM here and there, though.

I should really start at least preliminary planning for the next Magic of the Wood as well, so I don’t miss Earth Day this year.

Just thought I’d drop a little update.  Should be some new stuff soon.  Hoping that includes Lowborn and the next chapter of SOTM, but at the very least, I should have contes stories coming out.
