Think I might just start back in with “Lowborn” in the next couple of days.\u00a0 I’m feeling the writing bug, and I have a week’s vacation coming up in a week or so.<\/p>\n
If I haven’t already mentioned it, I’m going to\u00a0put “Barren Harvest” up on a shelf and save it for next Halloween.\u00a0 It’s simply too tied to the season to post at any other time.\u00a0 At least I’ll have a story pretty much ready to go immediately when the time rolls around.<\/p>\n
For now though, it’s back to Final Fantasy 9.\u00a0 It’s\u00a0a nice change of pace from the convuluted story and complete ass mechanics of 8, which I just played for the first time.\u00a0 I\u00a0skipped it quite on purpose, and I’m glad I never bothered until it was bargain bin price ( and played it on an emulator for save states )<\/p>\n
9 is a little too cartoonish in visual style for the darkness in a lot of the story, but it was nice to have one last episode hearkening back to the old superior fantasy stories before\u00a0shifting fully into the emo protagonists\u00a0with virtually nothing resembling a high fantasy world that the series seems to have pissed off towards.<\/p>\n
As I’ve said before:\u00a0 RPGs were the\u00a0genesis of my PnP fantasy world, and that’s the genesis of my writing.\u00a0 Going back to my roots seems to wake me back\u00a0up and give me the will to write again.<\/p>\n
Here’s\u00a0hoping that it works again, and that nothing comes up to slap me down to the ground again any time soon if it does.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
