I actually have the login\/logout functions working — with one bug.\u00a0 Something in the system loses the session only on logout.\u00a0 Everything else appears to be working just fine.<\/p>\n
I’m just about frustrated enough to say to hell with it, since the error redirects to the forum and the logout button works fine there.\u00a0 Maybe by the time I finish coding everything else, there will be a fix for this frustrating annoyance *laugh*\u00a0 I’m fairly positive that it’s an issue in the code of the forum that breaks the feature, because everyone that posts about it says that it worked in previous versions.\u00a0 Here’s to hoping that an update resolves it.<\/p>\n
So, fighting that kept me from writing.\u00a0 Had to reach a “screw it” mindset before I could quit.\u00a0 That’s just the way I am when I’m coding.\u00a0 I’ll go ahead with all the other functions that seem to be working, and come back to the logout bug later.<\/p>\n
Grabbed a new mod for the forum that will probably make the custom settings on the website easier to deal with.\u00a0 It will all depend on how it creates the database entries.\u00a0 I’ll have to dig through the code and see what it’s doing before I upload it and install it.\u00a0 If it actually creates new entries for each new option, then it’s what I’m looking for.\u00a0 I can then query those from within the website via the external functions of the forum\u00a0and use them to change various settings on the pages.<\/p>\n
I’ll post up a screenshot of the login\/logout when I finish dressing it up.\u00a0 Right now, it’s all basic.\u00a0 I’m going to CSS it to make it look prettier, and figure out what actual text I want displaying.\u00a0 I may even shunt it off to a specialized login page, in order to display more information and links without modifying my templates overmuch.\u00a0 I like the limited space and the tightness of the template for main pages.\u00a0 For some of the informational pages, I’ll have to expand them, but main pages look good this way to me.<\/p>\n
