(&#8217;99 vs. &#8217;12 )\u00a0 Damn car was using a quarter tank a day near the end.\u00a0 The new one is getting somewhere around 35-38 mpg.<\/p>\n<p>The money I&#8217;m not spending on constant repairs ( went extended warrenty to 100k ) will probably offset the car payments for a while :p\u00a0 Gas tank, radiator, heater core, wheel bearings, serpentine belt&#8230; it was something else failing every month or so for the last year or two.\u00a0 Not to mention four free oil changes plus discounted regular service of several types for quite a while on wear and tear typs stuff.<\/p>\n<p>All in all, I may not even notice the added costs of the new car *laugh*<\/p>\n<p>Not to mention that my hours are still up around that 50 per week range ( vs. an average of 34-40 for the last several years ) with no real end in sight.\u00a0 It looks like we probably are out of the weeks pushing 60 for a while, but that could change come summer.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m finally adjusting to the increased hours ( or where we are now is the limits of my endurance vs. where we&#8217;ve been for the last couple of months ) and feeling awake enough to do things once I get home from work ( such as typing this )<\/p>\n<p>I wrote an opening for an Earth Day story in the Magic of the Wood series yesterday, though I think I&#8217;m probably going to start the story in a different place.\u00a0 Even if I completely scrap what I wrote, at least I wrote something *laugh*\u00a0 That&#8217;s vast progress compared to the recent past.<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m alert and don&#8217;t feel like I&#8217;ve been run over a truck right now, so that&#8217;s a good thing.\u00a0 Probably going to start opening up some unfinished stories\/chapters and see if anything is inspiring me.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Got a new car over the weekend, checking one thing off the list that was eating up my time when I wasn&#8217;t at work.\u00a0 The money I&#8217;ll save on gas will probably offset the increased insurance payment.
