I got a bit of writing done earlier today, but the environment here wasn’t conductive to it as the day went on. So, I jumped into working on one of the long-delayed sections of the website – the “About Me” page.<\/p>\n
This is actually going to have quite a bit of content on it, rather than just a blurb or two.\u00a0 It will have links to pictures of me and my inspiration – Baileykins.\u00a0 I’ll also write about her on a page, telling some of how we met.<\/p>\n
There will be ancient examples of my writing from before I started posting anything to Lit.\u00a0 Most of this stuff has never been seen before ( and probably shouldn’t be ) but it’s an interesting way to see how I’ve evolved over the years.<\/p>\n
There will be information about my PnP role-playing game that is the inspiration for Danica’s World.\u00a0 Most of the characters in the\u00a0stories were my characters or NPCs from the game.\u00a0 Danica herself I created in Bailey’s image, catering to her fetishes, from a line on the back of Devan’s character sheet that said she had a younger sister.\u00a0 I’ll link up some scans of old maps, character sheets, spell books, and the like, so you can see the humble beginnings of the world Danica inhabits, and many of you walk with me in my stories.<\/p>\n
Finally, there will be a section that relates some of the Facebook-style information about what shows, music, books, and such I enjoy, as well as some pursuits I’ve engaged in over the years online, and a bit of the things I did way back when before there was an internet *laugh*<\/p>\n
The hardest part of all of this will be digging the stuff out of the labyrinth of the back bedroom to scan :p<\/p>\n
It’s proving to be a good test bed for adding story-related content as well.\u00a0 It will utilize all the navigation features and page layouts that I’ll need when I start building those content pages.\u00a0 With all that nailed down, I’ll be able to create the database tables and utilities necessary to enter new content with point and click ease.\u00a0 Once that’s done, the website can easily expand on request for information, or when new characters and settings show up in a story.<\/p>\n
I’m happy with how it’s all coming out, and this is yet another way I keep my juices flowing.\u00a0 Inactivity is what drags me down and keeps me from writing, so having this as a standby for when writing just isn’t going to work, but I don’t want to just vegetate on television or something, will keep me moving forward and out\u00a0of slumps.<\/p>\n
I’ll probably post some example pics on the forum soon of what the new sections will look like.\u00a0 The main “About” page and a good chunk of the\u00a0page where my pictures\u00a0are is done.\u00a0 Of course, I need to take new ones.\u00a0 I’ve been meaning to do that for a while.<\/p>\n
I usually have at least a little quiet time in the mornings before the young one fully wakes up, so I hope to get back on Sanctuary tomorrow, clearing my head of what I wrote on SOTM 18 so I can read it “cold” in a couple of days to begin the editing process.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
