Come home to find two wonderful surprises today.\u00a0 My contest story as Les earned me my first erroneous age rejection.\u00a0 Resubmitted with an eyeroll, hoping it might come out at midnight by some stroke of luck.\u00a0 If it doesn’t make it out until 6 am or later… Ugh…<\/p>\n
On top of that, my latest over at SOL is sputtering, which has become a trend.\u00a0 The same story is performing like gangbusters at Lit.<\/p>\n
To be honest, pushing the submit button at SOL is beginning to feel like tossing words into the void.\u00a0 If the trend continues, I’m leaning more and more toward not wasting the effort.\u00a0 The numbers have been steadily descending for a while, and the feedback is almost non-existant, even when a story does reasonably well.<\/p>\n
We’ll see how Stocking Stuffer does there after it’s had over the weekend at Lit.\u00a0 If a hotbutton fetish like that tanks…\u00a0 One more nail in the coffin.<\/p>\n
That’s assuming it does as well as I’m expecting at Lit.<\/p>\n
Even if I decide to close up shop at SOL, I’ll finish SOTM there.\u00a0 Other new stories may not get posted, though.\u00a0 That includes new stories in series like Magic of the Wood, since they’re all self-contained.\u00a0 Just thought I’d put out a heads up.<\/p>\n
Off tomorrow.\u00a0 The Thanksgiving rush seems to be tapering off, so I’m hoping for a lighter week next week after my three day weekend.\u00a0 Maybe I’ll be back in a mental state capable of writing again.\u00a0 This has just been a bad week.<\/p>\n
I’m going to vegetate for a little while, see if the young one will wind down, and maybe give a shot at writing, since this was a much slower day, and I already know I can get some sleep during the day tomorrow.\u00a0 Less pressure to force myself to go to bed.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
