Writing on Queen right now, and up to about 2k words.\u00a0 The setup is done, and I’m on the verge of completing the action scene that puts Thakkor and Alicia in my true setting from the story.\u00a0 A little transition, some hot and steamy fun, and the conclusion wrapping everything up after that.<\/p>\n
I spent most of the day musing “of the wood” at work, running various words for the title through my head, and testing them out against the basic framework I have established.\u00a0 I had a few okay ideas, one or two that lit up, but didn’t really pan out, and a lot of “that won’t work” *laugh*\u00a0 I do think that I’m getting somewhere, though.\u00a0 I think the title is the key to this one.\u00a0 Once I come up with the right word to put in there, the story will write itself.<\/p>\n
I’ve had quite a few thoughts about the sequel to Blackhawk Hall as well.\u00a0 I shifted away from the original premise, which was mostly based upon an image that I thought would be good for the cover, and I’m heading another direction.\u00a0 It seems to be congealing a bit more now, but it’s still back-burner for the time being.<\/p>\n
I’m still musing SOTM as well.\u00a0 The current scene is still proving a problem, but I’ve come up with some neat paths to explore for shortly afterward.\u00a0 It should lead to some intense action, including a major battle of significant importance to the story that I actually hadn’t planned on doing just yet.\u00a0 The more I think about it, the more right it seems to do it now.<\/p>\n
I’m thinking that this one is going to come to a head more quickly than I’d originally anticipated.\u00a0 As I work over the story in my head, I feel that it needs to move at a faster pace — unlike Danica — which was far more day-in-the-life by design.\u00a0 This was originally going to be a tale nearly as long as Danica, but I’m not going to let an arbitrary length dictate the story.\u00a0 If the characters are ready to move toward a conclusion, it’s going to happen.<\/p>\n
