A day off… Maybe

The boy’s up and about tonight, unlike the last two nights where he went to bed at a decent hour.  I was just starting to breathe a sigh of relief at him getting on a decent schedule, so him staying up again has my muse sitting in the corner in a huff.

He is starting to look a little droopy-eyed, though.  If he drops off, I may dive into something for a while.  I’m about to hit a little action sequence ( And I do mean little.  It’s going to be a real “Roar!”, “Eeek!”, -Magic-, “What just happened?” sort of thing ) and that requires a lot of visualization, which will require me not sitting here irritated at the boy fighting to get off a schedule again.

After that, it’s a little plot teasing, then a mixture of character development and sex, and finally the closer that ties together the beginning of the chapter.

I think I may read back through the last chapter of Lowborn I wrote tonight and refresh my memory on that.  Might even put a couple of paragraphs for the next chapter down, just to get it started.  Having a document saved — no matter how miniscule — seems to give me something to push toward and motivate me.

Watching my latest story in my third pen name.  It had its run at SOL, and now it’s enjoying a good showing at Lit as well.  The feedback from my writing is always encouraging.  Maybe that will help me get over being irritated at the young one *laugh*

EDIT — Just read back through Lowborn Ch. 06, and I don’t like where I left off.  The chapter is a little short anyway, so I think I may be finishing that one rather than starting a new one.  I changed my mind about how the next scene is going to go down, and a little more added to this chapter will give me a more exciting cliffhanger.

Another 400 or so.

Only managed to get another 400 or so words written on SOTM 17 today, but I did a lot of musing on the upcoming scenes at work.  Weekend is coming up, so I’m hoping to have the opportunity for a flurry of writing like I did last week.  That could very well put this chapter close to, if not completely done.

Finished my cold read of Kindred, and alerted ML that it’s ready for hacking and slashing.  Got back Ride from Roust, and it’s in the queue at Lit for the contest.

Off to relax for a bit, then I’ll probably write a little more — either on SOTM or a third-pen name story that I started.  Depends upon which one is singing to me.

6300 on SOTM 17

Finally finished that scene that’s been getting bits and pieces for a while now — basically since my last little flurry of writing motivation.  The next jumps to the witches three, and then comes back to Danica and Marlena for some… interesting interaction.

After that, it’s a cliffhanger related to the opening scene of this chapter, and it should be done.  It’s quite possible that this will be a longer than usual chapter.

Sent “Ride No More” off for final editing.  Odds are that I’ll have it back in short order, and get it in the queue for the contest.  I’m sort of delaying Kindred a bit, both so I could work on SOTM, and so it will come out after the start of the contest.  Sort of spread out the steady climb of numbers and stream of comments that always makes unleashing a new story worthwhile.

Plus, I should have at least one in my third pen name to enter as well.  This contest should provide plenty of long-lived positive feedback to pump me up for more writing.  I think I’ll actually write on that one a little before I go to bed, and start back fresh into the next scene of SOTM tomorrow.

Bit at a time.

I’m writing a paragraph here and a paragraph there on SOTM.  Just tired tonight.  We’ll see how far I get.

Started another in my third pen name, and saved a document with nothing but a witty title ( and main character name ) that popped in my head at work today.  I’m sure I’ll get a story to go with it eventually *laugh*

Probably edit this post before I crash out for the night if I jump a thousand words or so on SOTM.  If not, it will probably be tomorrow.

Over 5k on SOTM 17

Wrote on SOTM 17 a bit.  This scene and the related ones that follow have some rather important character development for both Marlena and Danica, and lay the foundation of something unbelievably important in the future of the story.   It will be a long time before that comes to pass, but it’s going to be a major turning point.

I’m also going to delve into Marlena’s past a little here.  It will be brief, but give a lot of insight into what made her into who she is, and what motivated some of the things she’s done in the past.  I may even end up writing that story eventually.  This and the story of Celes’ past both really need some expansion.  Hell, I even know what the title of Celes’ story is — “From the Hartwell”

Even when I’m not writing, for whatever reason, the stories are still there.  It’s just a matter of getting them out of my head and into the computer.

Those would be part of a series similar to The Arts Ardane that chronicles the history of Celes, Andrea, Marlena, and Ashley.

Of course, Andrea’s would be sex-free, because she was a virgin when she first met Danica.

Have to head to bed soon, but I’ll leave you with these parting words.  Stay far, far away from the “healthy choice” version of Campbell’s Sirloin Burger soup.  I don’t know how in the hell they managed to fuck it up, but it is right up there with the blandest, nastiest, most unappetizing things I’ve ever had the displeasure to eat.  I had to dump salt on it in order to choke it down so I didn’t waste it.

I’m serious.  It’s fucking disgusting.  I’ve got two cans of that nasty stuff left ( accidently grabbed it instead of the regular ) and I dread the thought that I’ll have to eat it someday, because I refuse to waste the money I spent.  I’d donate it to a food bank or something, but I honestly think someone would be better off hungry than eating it.

You could boil your old dirty socks and eat them and it wouldn’t taste as bad.

It is a blasphemy against the goodness that is Sirloin Burger Soup, and whoever came up with the receipe for it should be drawn and quartered.
