Worked on Blessing and two stories in my third name today. I’m starting to get past the block that keeps me away from the word processor. If this child of mine would cooperate by getting on a regular schedule, it would probably be going faster *laugh*
Getting there, though. I spend most of my day at work in muse mode, which is usually a good indicator. The characters are talking, and I’m listening 🙂
A little over a thousand words into Blessing. I have Dara introduced, though I need to figure out somewhere to work in a couple of lines of important back story/motivation. Dropped my male protagonist in, but I’m still trying to figure out his name *laugh*
Mused a lot on SOTM today. Working my way through that transition.
That’s the working title of the next story. It will star Dara ( Wade’s sister from Kindred of the Wood ) and be set once again in the BWCA. I had a flash of inspiration at work and scribbled it all down during the day. Think I have everything I need to make it work, so I’ll probably be starting on it some time today.
Working on a couple of stories in my third name ( one for the summer contest, which is when I plan to release Blessing ) and I have both Lowborn and SOTM 18 open as well. Had a couple of ideas on the later during my musing as well. In both cases, I’m trying to get through a transition to what I know comes afterward. Transitions between major scenes cause me problems like that sometimes.
Actually had an idea for Halloween in the Wood universe. Could be that Spirit of the Wood might come together for that contest. It would feature Xannera from Secret of the Wood, and be the first to go in the Non-Human category since the original story in the series.
Things are starting to congeal. Just a matter of how long it takes those sparks to come together and ignite another productive writing period.
I’m so bloody close to nailing down the next Wood story that I can taste it, but I’m just not quite there.
Frustrating.
I’m building up a lot of internal pressure, though. My muse is working in the background most of the time. I’m mulling over ideas at work, and everything I watch or hear is turning into a plot bunny. Eventually, that turns into an explosion. It always has. It’s just a matter of how long it takes.
Holding off on part of the updates for the forum, because I’m hearing some reports about one element of the package that I don’t like. That’s the element that runs much of the website, so until I hear that the problems have been resolved, I’m not going to risk it. Getting some of this stuff working was a hellish nightmare.
Just thought I’d at least get back to something resembling regular updates, even if there’s not any groundbreaking news. That in and of itself is a good sign, though. When I’m in a funk, I can’t even bring myself to do this.
Climbing back out of this hole all the time is a pain in the butt :p ( I know, I’m not the only one 😉 )
We’ll see what tomorrow brings.
