Quick recommendation

Just finished this story for my review thread at Lit, and I enjoyed it so much that I wanted to plug it here:

http://www.literotica.com/s/santa-claus-sex-addict

The first page has a strikethrough error ( which I’ve reported, in hopes that the website moderators will fix it ) but don’t give up on it because of that.  If you like my brand of humor, a well rounded fantasy world, hot sex, and a heartwarming ending, then I think you’ll enjoy this one.

It’s long at 11+ Lit pages, but it was well worth it to me.  If you feel the same, be sure to vote, and leave a comment for the author!

Whew! Successful update!

Guess I shouldn’t have been so worried about updating the software that is the primary backbone of the website.  It took a while, but everything went off without a hitch.

I may end up tweaking the forum skin, but for now, it’s close enough.

As soon as I updated, I noticed that there’s another update, so I’m most likely going to go ahead and apply that today as well.  Seems like a good time, since most in the U.S. aren’t likely to be on an adult website with family looking over their shoulder *laugh*

The most important thing about this update is that it paves the way to begin coding the backend of the website again.  That’s the first step into adding new content ( and restoring a lot of what used to be here )

I’ll keep everyone up to date as things move forward.  My first order of business after all updates are applied and working properly is to move to a sidebar.  What it will be is the current floating menu ( if you have it turned on ) locked to the sidebar of the page.  If you leave the default, the menu will scroll with the page.  If you select the floating menu, then the menu will remain conveniently at the top left of the page for quick navigation.

The reason I make it optional is that some older browsers may have problems with the floating menu.  If it works for you, you’ll certainly want to turn it on!

Once that’s done, I have the missing element of navigation that I felt I need to proceed.  After that, it’s straight content addtions.  Character profiles.  Maps.  Information on how the various forms of magic work.  Gods and religions.  All that jazz.

Okay, off to apply the next update.  If it keeps going this well, I may just get some writing done today as a bonus 🙂

EDIT: The second upgrade went through as smoothly as the first.  Updated a few peripheral bits of software as well.  Still a couple more I’m going to check for updates on while I’m having such good luck, but those are entirely behind-the-scenes things, and so should be completely invisible to you even if they do go haywire *laugh*

All in all, a welcome relief.

Closer, but…

Work and the young one conspiring against me.  On top of the Thanksgiving rush, we’ve got bigwigs coming in around the holiday, which means an orgy of cleaning and painting the whole bloody place.  Long days doing meaningless ( more than usual ) work is bad for the creative juices, and the energy.

Top that off with the boy not wanting to go to bed, and there you have it.

I did get the scene order down and figured out the transition from the scene I finished, though.  I still don’t think I’m in the frame of mind to move forward.  I’m seriously considering a quick read of what I’ve written, doing some of the tweaks I usually do during the editing process.  I tend to add a lot of the color to the world while I’m editing, so I could go back and get some of that done, to keep me from losing the drive.

The good news is that tomorrow is the last day of work before a 4 day weekend, which should help alleviate the issues vexing me at the moment.

3/4 Mark on SOTM 18

Made it to the 3/4 mark ( of average chapter length ) last night.  A lot of the scenes I’d planned to go in this one are actually going to get pushed into the next chapter, after that one scene I was talking about last night ran away with me.

That could be good news, because I have several scenes very much fleshed out and “ready to roll”.  If I can keep on an even keel, the next chapter could move quickly for once.  I’d guess there’s half a chapter worth of scenes all ready to fire.

I’m more or less sitting here trying to decide what order I want the last few scenes of the chapter to fall in.  My original, planned end-point got pushed out of this chapter.  I need to get that locked in so I can do a proper transition from the scene I finished last night.

And so, I’m off to do that 🙂

That was fun.

The scene I just finished tickled me to no end, and there’s more fun to be had with it too.

Hoping you enjoy it as much as I do when the chapter comes out.  I’m moving steadily toward the parts of the story where some serious action, fun, and heartwarming scenes come in, and those are always easier to write from a motivation standpoint, which is usually my biggest hurdle.

Here’s another little nugget before I release the first teaser on the forum:

That’s the image I’ll be using to advertise this chapter in my sig at Lit.

I’ll be back to writing tonight in a few minutes 🙂
