Nearly there.

I’m writing the next to the last scene on SOTM 18. Well, it’s actually the next to the next to last scene, but I skipped ahead and wrote the final scene of the chapter when this one didn’t want to flow.

Anyway, only this one and another to go. Aiming to finish them today.

Probably would have been done sooner, but I’ve had a full plate. Cleaned off everything else except Sanctuary, and I’m feeling the flow on SOTM now.

I have a couple more ideas ready to go on the plate, but I’m trying to avoid thinking about them so they don’t distract me. My muse seems to get distracted by shiny things like new storylines and wants to scamper off.

I’m moving along, and hope to have it ready for editing soon. I may go ahead and post the teaser some time today. Once this chapter is done, I’m going to start on the next, getting down some of those scenes that I moved out of the current chapter. That should give me a good jump start. Once I wind down there, I’m going to take a look at Lowborn again, and see if I want to put it back on the active plate. Sanctuary will naturally stay on the plate until finished.

Off for a nap ( Nice to be on vacation when the young one is on a tear of not wanting to go to bed at a decent hour ) and then back to writing when I get up.

Happy New Year, everyone!

Writing on SOTM and Sanctuary, and they’re both coming along well. Dabbling with a few other things as well. Writing throughout the day, so something is always moving at least a little.

Also getting a lot done behind the scenes in prep to launch new content on the website. Still 8 days left in my vacation, so I’m hoping to get a lot accomplished on top of getting plenty of sleep for once *laugh*

3K on Sanctuary of the Wood

Up to 3K words on Sanctuary of the Wood, and about to reveal the main plot that I’ve only been hinting at so far. Right after that comes some fun in the story that I know I’m going to enjoy writing.

Doing well. If this keeps up, I might have this one done ( or mostly ) before the Valentine’s contest finishes. That will be a load off my mind 🙂

Probably going to write the next scene of SOTM this evening. Not much more left in this chapter, and as I said, there are several scenes I pushed into the next chapter that are all but written in my head.

I’ve been looking at a story I started last year as Les called “Violet Valentine” as well. I was at a sort of sticking point, and never finished it, but I think I may have an idea to continue it. Once I’m at a good point on Sanctuary, I may very well see about entering that in the Valentine’s contest. Also have a couple of chapters of a story called “Jackin’ Jill” that I’ve been sitting on for a while as I worked on other things.

And, of course, I’ll finish Lowborn one of these days.

Other than that one day, I’m writing every day on something or another. Keeping moving and motivated — excited about what I’m writing. That’s key to production for me.

We’ll see what this evening brings 🙂

P.S. Figured out what I did with the legalese pages. Real boneheaded maneuver. Still have to get around to restoring them.

EDIT: Woot! I nearly forgot that the underlying software keeps track of revisions. All I had to do was go back to the revision before I screwed up and restore it. Legalese page now working properly again.

Plugging along

Didn’t get much written today. It was a lazy, catch-up day after a long night at work yesterday. The good news is that I don’t have to go back into work until the 9th of January 😀

What I did finish was updating the sidebar menu to display options within the page, making them easier to navigate. For now, it’s of minimal use on the pages where it appears. ( other than “My Work”, which now give a quick jump link to Danica’s World, Laresa’s World, and A Royal Sacrifice. Those only used to be accessible through the series listing for stories )

Once I start adding “My Worlds”, it will come in handy. There are a lot of sections within that, and having the sub-section links will be vital for decent navigation. This was mainly a test to make sure it worked.

Of course, I found out that my legalese page has somehow lost the Terms and Privacy statements… I don’t know whether I accidently uploaded an old backup or what. I’ll have to go through and redo those now *groan* They were a pain in the ass the first time, and I’m sure they will be again.

I’m also working on something behind the scenes for someone 😉

Looking forward, I’m rested and have a lot of open time in front of me. Here’s to hoping my muse cooperates and lets me take advantage of it.

“Sanctuary of the Wood” is coming along nicely. I’m hoping I’ll be ready to post a teaser for SOTM 18 by next weekend at the latest. Working on a few other things as well. I’m writing daily again, and that will likely continue next week, even though the rumor is that it’s going to be a hell week at work.

As I expected, getting excited over the next Wood story got me moving. It’s just the way I am. Sometimes, I need a boost from something else to get my juices flowing so I can work on other stories that may have stalled. No one thing gets done in a hurry, but at least everything moves. With my muse being the way it is, I just have to take the inspiration and motivation however I can get it.

Probably do the coding on the new subsections of the sidebar menu at some point today or tomorrow. That’s the test bed for expanding them for new content sections. Working on the website when the environment in the house isn’t conductive to writing is another way I keep forward momentum flowing, and there’s usually at least once during the day where that’s the case.
