Caught up

Caught up on all my side projects in my third name and such.  Taking tonight off, because it was a long night at work, and I’m off Friday, so I don’t have to worry about how late I stay up after I get home tomorrow 🙂

Once the young one goes down for the night tomorrow, I’m going to put on Chrono Cross and get down to finishing the next chapter of SOTM.  Once I do that, I think I’m going to look at the last chapter of Lowborn.  Might be a nice Christmas present to get the next SOTM out and start Lowborn, which will be a weekly new story for two months.

Getting the seeds of ideas for the Earth Day Magic of the Wood story going too.  Don’t want to break tradition, so I want to be prepared with something I’m fairly certain will work well in advance.

Stocking Stuffer live at SOL

Mom’s Stocking Stuffer is now live at Storiesonline.  Give it a read and a vote!

Writing, but nothing big enough to report just yet.  Last week just really took a lot out of me.  More or less recovered, but I need one short day to really get back to 100% — or my day off coming Friday.  That should do it.

Thank ye!

Just have to say thanks for the response on Stocking Stuffer.    It just took over as my highest vote total story from one in my third name that had held the title for quite some time.  The comments are flattering, and all the feedback is a nice boost.

My primary goals for the story are all coming together nicely.  The feedback is the first part.  The second is getting eyes on my other stories.  Considering I’m now on the “recently popular” list of 90% of the categories I’ve written in at Lit as Les, and the number of new reads/votes, I can safely call that mission accomplished as well.  The third is a petty little thing, but I’m only a few votes and views away from topping he-who-shall-not-be-named, while having a higher score and more favorites on top of it.

I shall enjoy his writhing and sputtering *laugh*

I’ll likely post the story at SOL at the beginning of next week.

Worked on SOTM a little yesterday, and I’ll get in some more today as well.  Once there’s some reportable progress, I’ll drop a line here.

Off to make a pizza, and then we’ll see if the house is calm enough for me to write a little.

Mom’s Stocking Stuffer LIVE

My Winter Holiday story, “Mom’s Stocking Stuffer” is live at Lit after a brief hiccup.  Big thanks to Laurel for getting it out at midnight to make up for the erroneous rejection.

Again, a reminder that this is a Mom/Son taboo story, if that’s creepy, then you may want to give it a miss.

What a day…

Come home to find two wonderful surprises today.  My contest story as Les earned me my first erroneous age rejection.  Resubmitted with an eyeroll, hoping it might come out at midnight by some stroke of luck.  If it doesn’t make it out until 6 am or later… Ugh…

On top of that, my latest over at SOL is sputtering, which has become a trend.  The same story is performing like gangbusters at Lit.

To be honest, pushing the submit button at SOL is beginning to feel like tossing words into the void.  If the trend continues, I’m leaning more and more toward not wasting the effort.  The numbers have been steadily descending for a while, and the feedback is almost non-existant, even when a story does reasonably well.

We’ll see how Stocking Stuffer does there after it’s had over the weekend at Lit.  If a hotbutton fetish like that tanks…  One more nail in the coffin.

That’s assuming it does as well as I’m expecting at Lit.

Even if I decide to close up shop at SOL, I’ll finish SOTM there.  Other new stories may not get posted, though.  That includes new stories in series like Magic of the Wood, since they’re all self-contained.  Just thought I’d put out a heads up.

Off tomorrow.  The Thanksgiving rush seems to be tapering off, so I’m hoping for a lighter week next week after my three day weekend.  Maybe I’ll be back in a mental state capable of writing again.  This has just been a bad week.

I’m going to vegetate for a little while, see if the young one will wind down, and maybe give a shot at writing, since this was a much slower day, and I already know I can get some sleep during the day tomorrow.  Less pressure to force myself to go to bed.
