Short week… Ha!

This was supposed to be a short week.  Monday was, but everything fell apart after that.  I guess I can hope that tomorrow will actually pan out as a short day, but I’m not counting on it.  I haven’t seen any evidence that they’ve corrected the problem that’s been keeping us there.

So, I still don’t have my drive enclosure.  Not sure that I’ll go get it over the weekend, either.  The drive has kept me from going when I got out of work late, and the prospect of making it with the young one isn’t all that appealing either.

I’ll get it in time.  I’d really like to have all my stuff back on this bleeping computer *laugh*

Going to wait for the boy to wind down, and then see if I can write a bit more tonight.  Wrote a little more last night, but mostly on some story starter ideas.

A long day

Didn’t get out of work anywhere near as early as I expected, so I decided to put off the drive to pick up the enclosure for my hard drive today.  I’ll pick it up tomorrow when I should get out much earlier.

Did a bit more writing on the stuff I’m working on.  A little SOTM, a little VR:DQ…  Things are moving, and I’m feeling good when I have some quiet time to write.

May work on the website a little once I get that drive hooked up to the system.  Now I have all of my old stuff, but I need my new stuff that’s on that drive *laugh*  I could have pulled everything back off the server, but I decided just to wait until I hooked up the drive.

Once I get everything back within easy access, I should be able to move a lot of stuff forward.  Figured I’d drop a line, and let everyone know that I’m plugging away.  With the ease of updating through the blog, it’s probably something I’ll do quite often any time I’m feeling motivated enough to work on something that those who read me would be interested in.

And yet a bit more…

Two hour delay this morning, and since I was already up, I decided to write.

Another 500 words, so Ch. 16 is a fifth of the way done.  Also got a start on Lowborn Ch. 05, did a little setup for another story, and put together the framework for my second story arc in the “Virtual Reality: Dragon Quest” series as Les Lumens.  This one will explore 6, 7, and 8 — and I won’t be the only one wandering through the worlds of Dragon Quest this time.

Nothing is moving at lightning speed, but a lot of things are moving.

Almost time to get the young one ready and head off to work, so time to relax a little.  I should have all my old files on this computer by this evening, which will help things roll along.

A little bit more.

Wrote a little more on SOTM — about 500 words.  It’s part of two different scenes.  One, I just need to think about a little more and skipped over.  The other I need to double-check something in one of the other unpublished chapters to make sure that I’m not contradicting something I’ve already written.

They should have my drive enclosure in tomorrow, so I’m just going to wait on that until I have all my files on this computer again.

Trying to decide whether to start on the next chapter of Lowborn, work on a Les idea, or something else that’s sort of brewing in my head *laugh*  The young one went directly to bed when we got home, so I sort of hate to waste the quiet time.

On the other hand, there’s a chance that the butthead might try to get up in the wee hours of the morning if I don’t go to bed.  Nothing like a conundurum.

We’ll see.

The point is that I’m writing again.  Here’s to hopin’ that it keeps up.

SOTM 16 Moving

I’m a little over a thousand words in.  It may only be a tenth of the chapter, but it’s more than I’ve written on the story in I don’t know how long.  I easily have half of this chapter fully written in my head, so it’s a matter of finding time/peace to write it.

That was more or less what I managed to finish before the young one awakened this morning.  I may just write a bit more tonight now that he’s abed.  Probably not much, because I’ve got to go back to work in the morning, but at least a few paragraphs of the next scene.
