Editing on SOTM 15 and puzzling out how I want the next “of the wood” story to go. Have Lowborn and the next VR:DQ going as well. Just a matter of what strikes me when I have time/peace to work.

Okay, back to editing Ch. 15. At least that’s the plan for the moment *laugh*
Think I have some of the basics for the next “Of the Wood” story going. As with the last two stories, I’m going to jump ahead several years. The primary protagonist this time is going to be young Daniel — just conceived at the end of “Forever of the Wood”
Xanbrina and Gary will be in their 60’s, Xankia and Steve will be pushing closer to 40 than 30. I should imagine that you’ll probably meet Kia and Steve’s young ones, but they’re too young to feature much in the story considering the state of undress common to family gatherings.
Odds are that Kia’s little ( well, the oldest is 13, so not so little ) ones will be the focus of the following story after this one, marking the first shorter jump in time span. We first met the elder Daniel at around five years old, so this story will have been following the family for more than 85 years when I finish the current tale.
I think that someone else associated with the younger Daniel is also going to have a larger role in this story than similar characters have in previous tales. We’ll just have to see how it goes as the story congeals in my head.
That’s pretty much all I’ve done tonight with my writing. I went through and read the series again, figured out how old everyone was going to be, and started meshing it with the ideas I tossed around in my head while at work today.
Other than that, I just uploaded my fifth LP and recorded the sixth to upload tomorrow. Think I’m actually going to go to bed a little earlier tonight. I was pretty beat down from staying up last night.
Just wasn’t in the mood to write or edit tonight. I went ahead and finished my fourth LP video and uploaded it. Then I topped off the fifth, which I’ll upload some time tomorrow. I guesstimate that there will be four more videos, running straight through the game twice to show off everything in a seamless run — probably making goofy comments all the while.
That’s what I’m hoping for, anyway. I’m going to try to do two stages per video and keep it down to the 11 minute barrier. I’m going to show off the second run because there are new traps in the chance stages, and the enemies are a buttload harder.
I’ll try to do some writing or editing tomorrow, though. I may try to work out the next “of the wood” story while I’m at work tomorrow. Time’s running out to prepare for that one to avoid breaking my tradition of putting one out for Earth Day
They boy’s been a pain, so haven’t accomplished much. I did make it through Ch. 14. I’ll probably give it one more read in a different font size and face with an extra keen eye for unnecessary proper names, but it’s more or less ready to go.
I started on 15, but I’m only a few paragraphs in so far. I keep getting caught up in reading and forgetting to edit. I can only hope that translates over to y’all when it comes out *laugh*
Probably be all that I do tonight, because my eyes are getting heavy. Stayed up late last night working on that edit and putting together most of my fourth LP video.
The boy’s been a pain, but I’ve found some time to do some editing on Ch. 14. There’s plenty of color in that one so far, so I haven’t had to set the scene like I will in later chapters ( and probably near the end of this one ) I’m mainly taking out umpteen proper names and cleaning up awkward phrasing.
Seems like he’s winding down now, so I’ll probably go hit the bath once he’s been out for an hour or so, and then do some more editing. Might even write a little, if I can turn off the t.v. or move him from the couch to the bed so I can get some quiet.
Probably take the time to record a little more for my Let’s Play series, too. I’ll try to use as much time as possible for my writing, though. The LP is just a goof off thing, more or less. Having some variety in projects is just helping me stay motivated and keeping everything moving forward. Whenever I feel a little burned, I just turn my attention to something else. The LP, the website, SOTM, Lowborn, Les stories…
You get the picture.
Doing the LP also gives me doses of gaming in there, which seems to help keep my spirits up and my juices flowing.
Time to turn the dryer back on and put another load into the washer.
