My editor’s computer is on the fritz, so there’s a chance that Ch. 16 might get delayed by more than I originally intended.  I’m going to go ahead and start my part of the editing process tomorrow, but it will be a matter of when Roust gets his system brought back to life when it will actually post.

If you haven’t already, go read my contest story ( see previous post ) at Lit.  If you like my stuff as Dark, you’ll probably like this tale of love and magic as well.  I got screwed by a late posting, and while it’s doing okay, the delay in getting it up has hurt the number of views and votes.  On top of that, it posted after all the audio stories, further hiding it.

Can really use the reads and ( honest + only one per reader! ) votes, if you haven’t checked it out yet.

Heart of the Wood is back from editing, formatted for submission, and even tested in preview to make sure the tagline fits, the scene separators display properly, and the paragraphing is correct.

I’ll be submitting it some time tomorrow afternoon, expecting a midnight release.

Alternating between working on an Earth Day story in my third name and finishing that scene in SOTM 17.  Hope to have one or the other of them done by the time I submit Heart tomorrow.

Both would be nice.

This was originally supposed to be a Valentine’s story, and I’d actually finished the cover before the story fizzled out on me and I couldn’t finish it in time. I actually prefer this one, so I thought I’d show it off.

Took a break from writing and finished the pic I’m using to advertise the upcoming Ch. 16 of Sisters of the Mists on Lit’s forum.

That’s how I envision Andrea, BTW.  It’s based off the original pic I found when I was dreaming her up, and represents a scene from the chapter.

Now, back to writing for a few minutes on my potential Earth Day story in my third name, and then it’s time to tweak Heart so I can get it off to Roust for final editing.

Just got Heart of the Wood back from first reading, and I’m dancing a jig because there’s no major rewriting in my future.  Need to tweak a few things, but that should be easily accomplished tomorrow.  I can then get it off to Roust for nuts-n-bolts editing, and have it ready to submit at Lit for the contest on Monday.

With that burden off my shoulders, I’m free to write on whatever tickles my fancy again — and I have a lot of options.  Naturally, I’m going to concentrate on finishing that scene in SOTM 17 first, so I can get 18 up and rolling.

I’ll also be doing my final edit on Ch. 16 soon, to get it ready to submit.  It certainly won’t be in the upcoming week ( because the submission period for the contest is open through the middle of the week ) but it might be the next Thursday at midnight after that.  All depends on how the edit goes, and whether I get too wrapped up in writing to edit.
