The first chapter of Lowborn is in Roust’s hands, and I anticipate that I’ll have it back before the day is out.
Got some quiet time now before the young one wakes up, so I’m going to try to get some things done.
The word count on the final chapter of Lowborn is up to 4k. I’m making my way slowly through the sex scene when I’m home, awake, and the place isn’t too loud and distracting to visualize.
This scene is an odd dichonomy, which I’m enjoying, but which also takes a lot more consideration than your average bump and grind. After all the agonizing over that scene in the last chapter, this is a dawdle, though *laugh*
Another little tidbit is that I’ve added “To Catch a Merchant Princess” to a new site, called Stories Space. It’s a more family-friendly sister site to Lushstories. Because of this, I edited a bit of the wording to meet their bar of what’s allowable. ( basically, removed the words cock, clit, pre-cum, and cunt used as a curse )
I also chose to remove the final oral scene at the end of Ch. 05 because the site isn’t really an erotica site, and to get the chapter under 10k words, that was the perfect amount of trimming.
As easy as it was to remove, with perfect transition lines already there in the story, the scene probably should have been edited out from the beginning *laugh* A little unnecessary sex is acceptable on an erotica site, though. I also like the depiction of Alicia giving her first blowjob, and how she handles the inevitable conclusion.
I may add a few more things there such as Ride No More, Grandfather Yule ( the next time Christmas rolls around ) Finding Karen ( ditto ) and possibly even the Magic of the Wood series. Most everything else would lose the proper energy in the sex scenes by softening the language, or is too sex centered to really fit with their model.
Before I’d consider the Wood series, I’d likely go through and do the long considered edit of Steward to improve the flow slightly, making better, more interesting transitions between those early year-jumping scenes.
There could be others that would work, but we’ll see what happens. So far, MP has very few views ( as in 15-25 ) and the only votes are coming from the moderator who approved the story — 1 Per chapter. If after the whole series posts it remains that way, I may not bother. The site has a fraction of the traffic of Lush.
I’m trying to hash out with the moderators whether the story is postable at Lush, but I’m either getting stonewalled, or the moderator I’ve been in contact with has been AFK for a few days.
The story was almost too sexy for one site, and appears that the swordplay and deaths are too much for the other =P The moderators of both sister sites are a little iffy on the rules of the other, because I’ve been getting suggestions from both directions to try the other site for stories that it’s obvious won’t meet their guidelines *laugh*

Got a quiet moment going on right now, so I’m going to try to get a bit more done on Lowborn. Only about an hour and a half max ( pushing it ) before I need to crash to survive work tomorrow without being miserable.
Had a flash of inspiration this morning right after putting the young one on the bus. Jumped on the computer and typed out the notes while it was all still fresh in my mind, before I had to run off to work.
I won’t know for sure until I start writing it, but this may be that final piece that gets me over the hump of the final big scene and gets the first draft of this DONE.
Can’t remember whether I mentioned it, but Missionary Impossible went into the downloads section yesterday, and Kindled in Fiction ( both chapters in one download ) today.
Also still working on Friend of the Wood. That one clears up in my head a little more all the time as well.
EDIT ( a little later ) Cut out about 600 words from the final chapter of Lowborn where I’d ground to a halt, went back and added a new scene that sets up my flash of inspiration. So far, it’s going well. I’m liking the exchange of dialogue, and I think it’s going to lead me where I need to go. More as soon as I’ve written some more.
Don’t know if that will be tonight, because the noise level just went up around here =P We’ll see.
A week off to rest, finishing the last of the things that needed done with the new car, and coming back today to reduced hours ( should be back down to around 40-45 for a while ) has me in much better shape.
I have the last story of the Devan trilogy for the Web Shorts page back from editing, and I’ll be posting it soon. I’m going to try to finish my Earth Day story, even though the contest is closed to new entries, because it isn’t quite Earth Day yet. I really hated missing last year, and I’d like not to repeat that. I’d overcomplicated the story a little, which is what kept me from finishing it in time for the contest. Now that I’ve pared it down, I’m hoping I can get it done in time for Earth Day.
Naturally, I’m going to try to get the next chapter of SOTM moving again, and try to get frikkin’ Lowborn finished so I can post it after all this time.
I’m on vacation next week, and I’m going to try to get back on track. Even though my hours at work have dropped a little, the last month or so have seen an exponential increase in daily aggravation. So, every hour feels like two or three.
Ugh..
Anyway, with a week off, I hope to rejuvenate and try to get back to writing and working on the website.
I upgraded a lot of the underlying software today. Appears to have gone off without a hitch. Keeping my fingers crossed.
Have that first draft of Devan:Deflowered ready for editing. I’ve just been too tired and beat down to do it. Should be able to finish that and get it posted next week on the Web Shorts page.
Otherwise, my focus for the short term will be the next entry in the Magic of the Wood series. I really hated missing Earth Day last year, and I’d like to avoid repeating that.
