SOTM 10 is finished ( sans editing ) and 11 is started. The force appears to be with me right now, in keeping Danica’s tale flowing ~_^
I’m taking a little breather to let the just-finished chapter stew, and working on a couple of other stories ( both in my alternate pen name ) I’ve found that my thoughts congeal better when I do that, and that my first-pass edit is far more effective. Roust has a far easier time with my work when I let it simmer before giving it a once over myself and sending it out to him.

I know it’s hard to wait, but at least it’s only weeks as opposed to months with a novel *laugh* I go crazy waiting for the next Feist to hit the shelves.
If you like my writing as Darkniciad, and haven’t done so, then check out my other work as Les Lumens. Between the two pen names, I actually do post new stories on a fairly regular basis. I just can’t control my muse, and she will only let me write what she wants to at any given moment. When she’s concentrating on something, it comes out fast and furious. In the meantime, she won’t let me concentrate on anything else.
I’m going back to work on Ch. 10 now, because my muse is speaking to me. I was working on another Halloween story, having scrapped my original follow-up to Home by the Sea, but now Danica and the others are demanding attention.
Sisters of the Mists Ch. 08 is out at Lit. I’ll put it in the queue at SOL as soon as I finish this update.
I’m writing the final scene of Ch. 09 right now. The action that closes this one carries right over into a big story arch, so the next chapter should come easily. This chapter is a little longer than the last several have been. Now that SOL has added pagination to the presentation of stories, I’m not so worried about keeping each chapter below 10k words.
I’ll be posting a new edit of Home by the Sea soon, and I might just post a follow-up as well. The re-edit is part of my continuing quest to clean up all my older stories from before I started working with Roust as my editor.
For fans of Laresa, a follow-up to the Blinding White ( Ch. 10 ) is kicking around in my head. Odds are that it will emerge some time soon.
Nobles by deed will probably get a history tale about Alicia soon. With that will come an re-edit of King Thakkorias. I’m already working on Blackhawk’s re-edit a little, and that’s because the sequel is brewing in my head as well. The tale of how all the Nobles met is also formulating in my head, and that story will probably be something between the length of Blackhawk and Danica.
I have one more chapter in the Royal Sacrifice chain to write too.

Well, since this wouldn’t post last night, the chapter is out at SOL as well, and I’ve finished 09. I’m letting it simmer for a few hours before re-reading it, first-pass editing, and getting it out to Roust. I’m also started on Ch. 10.
