10,300 on Heart

Up to 10,300 on Heart, and finally have these two shirtless.  Doubt the rest of their clothes are going to last much longer.  The young one is out like a light, so in a few minutes, I’m going to eliminate the various noise makers in the house, crank on Chrono Cross to cover the rest, and get down to business.  I’d like to have most of this scene finished tonight, while I’ve got the chance.

I’m aiming to have it done and ready to simmer by Thursday, which will allow me to get it in ML’s hands over the weekend.  Then it’s a matter of when she can work it into her schedule.

How painful the review is will determine how long it is after that *laugh*

I’ll most likely get to work on SOTM while Heart is simmering.  I find it best to write something else while I’m letting a story sit, because it helps get the tale out of my head, allowing me to find errors and clumsy passages with more ease when I pick it back up for the final read and first-pass edit.

I remembered that I wanted to add one scene to the end of Ch. 17, so that will be the first thing I’ll do, followed by starting 18.

That story I was thinking about putting in the Earth Day contest in my third name is really better suited for just a normal story.  I just don’t feel the theme as I think about it, so I’ll probably shelve it until after the contest is over.  A couple of other ideas in that name will also probably get cranked out, as they’re more or less fully formed.

I may very well use those stories as breaks while waiting on ML to finish the content read of Heart, though.  The major writing plan during that is to work on SOTM and Lowborn — whichever is striking my fancy at the time.  The stories in my third name are good alternates, because they’re so vastly different ( and require much less concentration ) helping me clear my head.  They also get to the sex quick, meaning that I’ve got naughty bits to write when I’m more in the mood for that than plot or setup.

Anyway, let’s see how far I can get tonight, shall we?

Almost there

All I need to do is finish the current scene I’m writing on Heart, and I’m up to the easy part — the sex and the ending.  Pacing the current scene may be a bit tricky, but I think I have it down.  Hope to finish that tomorrow when I’m off work.

If I can finish the story by Thursday, I can read through and first-pass edit it on Saturday, and get it out for a content read.  Mistress Lynn has done this for me on the last several Wood tales, and she’s agreed to help me out again, despite a hectic schedule.  It’s much appreciated, because her input has been immensely valuable in making the stories what they are.

Of course, I almost always have to do some bit rewrites when she sends themn back, because she’s a tough one.  It’s worth it, though ( after I stop crying *laugh* )

Once the rewrite is done, then it goes off to Roust for the nuts-n-bolts editing.  Then, I’ll finally have this one completely in the bag.

Just a reminder that I won’t be posting any new chapters of SOTM until the contest is over.  I just don’t want to get raped by losing half a day on the New list again.  That really sucked.

Once I get the first draft of Heart done, I’m going to start on Ch. 18 of SOTM, at least getting the first scene that I’ve had building in my head down on paper.  I’d like to get the next chapter of Lowborn moving as well.  It would be nice to be able to start releasing that one between this contest and the Nude Day contest.

Anyway, I’m going to chill for a few minutes, and see if the young one is actually down for the night so I can turn down the televisions low enough to possibly get some more of that scene in Heart done.

Quiet time? What’s that?

Yeah.  I managed to write a little bit on that story in my third name right after I got off work, but the child has been acting like an animal ever since I picked him up, so I haven’t accomplished anything since then.

Can’t even summon up enough concentration to muse for more than a minute or two at a time.

Planning to see if I can’t get up ahead of him by a little while tomorrow ( without getting up so early that I’m too tired to do anything ) and see if I can’t get some writing done.  He’s often a little slower first thing in the morning, though that only reduces the noise level a little — which seems to be my biggest problem.

Have been mulling over how to start Ch. 18, and what general chapter area I want some things to pop up ( including a crossover with another story of mine that I posted long, long ago )  Also have a nice hook for the beginning of the new version of Ch. 6 of Lowborn.

Really tempted to write the first few paragraphs of the sequel to Blackhawk as well.  I’ve had a lot of that in my head for a long time, but just haven’t written it because I was still trying to figure out the plot after that opening.

Several ideas in my third name, which I’ll probably jump on after the contest entries, whenever I just can’t concentrate on something else.  The nice thing about those stories is that they’re short, and don’t require much long term thinking or intense character development.  I can often whip them out quickly, and get some feedback that makes me smile and gets me back to writing other things.

I’ve been mulling over this idea lately of ancient extraterrestrials and lost civilizations like the Maya.  An archaeology/Sci-Fi crossover as Les Lumens.  The more I think about it, the more I like it.  I like the idea of trying to do what the last Indiana Jones film tried to do, without sucking horribly *laugh*

I may try to write a few more lines before I go to bed, just because I want to keep in the habit of writing every day, and what I finished earlier doesn’t feel as if it’s enough.  I need to get over the frustration of earlier, though.  There are some days when he’s wound up and I’m already a little on edge where it’s difficult to handle.

Future chapter note

I’m going to hold off on adding any new chapters of SOTM until after the Earth Day contest is over.  It starts on the 28th and submissions end on the 13th.  Reason being, I had a couple of stories that I put out during a contest once, and they weren’t posted until after noon, as opposed to midnight ( or a little after )

I lost half a day on the New list, and the views on both stories suffered horribly.  So, until the submission period is over for the contest, I won’t be posting anything ( in any pen name ) that isn’t part of the contest.

Couldn’t get anything done on Heart last night, as the young one was being uncooperative.  I’m hoping to get off work early today so I can steal some quiet time before I pick him up from daycare.

Really itching to get at both Lowborn and SOTM, and that’s certainly a good thing.  When I start having a lot of ideas and scenes flowing through my head, text tends to get on screen.  Still making sure that my Earth Day stories are going to get finished first, though.

The new chapter of SOTM should be up at SOL shortly.  It was put in last night.

15 Ready to queue up at SOL

Didn’t have time to get the story ready for posting this morning, so I’m going to put it in the queue at SOL in a bit, after I’m sure that Lazeez is done adding anything new for the night.  My experience with recent postings is that the overnight hours at SOL have become a graveyard, and the morning stories quickly move the overnight postings down far enough that the views suffer horribly.

It should come up with the first morning posting tomorrow, which is what I had originally planned before Lit caught me off guard with a two day turnaround.

Going to try to relax for a bit, see if the young one is ready for bed, and then get back to Heart of the Wood.  I wrote a bit earlier, but I’d like to finish the next scene tonight.

I have Monday off, and I have a vacation coming up in the second week of April, so I hope to get some writing done in coming days.  Of course, I’ve tried that before without much luck, but hope springs eternal 🙂

Thanks to everyone who’s voted and commented on the new chapter so far.  That has really helped me keep my energy up, so dropping a coin in my tin cup with your comments pays dividends of more words going on paper.
