Barren Harvest is off for editing. So, barring any complications, I’m on target to submit for a Thursday night release.
Working on my other one now. If I get it finished ( likely ) that will be two new tales in Danica’s world coming out within the next couple of weeks — one starring the lovely lass herself 🙂
Just finished my first cold read of Barren Harvest. Made a few wording changes and added some scenery spice, but I’m otherwise happy with it.
I’ll do the nuts-n-bolts first pass edit in a little while, then get it off to Roust. Since it’s been a while since I’ve mentioned it, this is the next in the Arts Ardane series, as well as a Halloween story that gives more details about the Harvest Festival in Danica’s world.
After that, I’m going to get back to Flesh. I’ve been mulling it over, and I might just change it up a little. I hit a snag last night where I was having trouble dealing with how the characters would react — as well as feeling as if the story was dragging. There are a couple of neat scenes that I really like, but I’m having trouble getting them to flow with the overall story. I may just have to scrap them and save them for another tale.
Just have to see what happens.
3500 words on Flesh and moving nicely. There’s only a little more to the build-up of this one beyond what I’ve written. It’s going to come to a head fairly quickly — and nastily. It is horror, after all.
Probably start editing on Barren Harvest tomorrow after work. I’m still aiming for a Thursday night release on that one.
Well, I had a brainstorm on Flesh just as soon as I said I was going to let it stew for a while *laugh* So, it’s underway. With only so much time left to submit ( 20 days isn’t much at the rate I write sometimes :/ ) it will probably be the only other major story I submit. The Wood series is just going to have to wait a little longer, most likely.
I’ll probably begin the editing process on Harvest tonight, aiming for a Thursday release.
