Depression is a bitch

I had a trigger a while back — just about the time I decided to rework the whole website.  I was on a major writing binge before that ( even though most of it is still unpublished, because I’m not putting out any new stories that aren’t complete now )

It just takes me a while to pull out of a spiral and get back to writing nowadays.  I finally wrote a bit more of Barren Harvest, but I’m still not fully in the mode.  Seems like every time I’m really on my game, something gets in the way.  Then when I’m free, I don’t feel like writing.

Think I may have to put Harvest aside for a little bit and see if Lowborn flows better.  Too tired to start a new chapter tonight, so that will be for tomorrow.  I’m introducing a new character, building toward the penultimate conflict of the story, and setting up the ending.  Too much to wrap my brain around at this time of night *laugh*

If anybody has any ideas of stories that you’d like to see, feel free to speak up.  A spark like that could be what I need to get jumping.  Did I mention some bit of history in another story that you’d like to see play out in its own tale?  Wonder why some character developed a certain quirk?  I’ve had suggestions like that before, and that’s how both Merchant Princess and Ebon Genesis came about.

I have a million story ideas floating around, but the depression just keeps me from getting excited and writing.  A little inspiration from outside might do the trick.

Ditto for any LesLumens ideas.  Doesn’t matter how out there they are, I’ll consider them.  Even things that are really off the wall may have a place, or serve as a plot bunny for other authors I talk to.

Thanksgiving/Christmas/New Years ideas would be most welcome, as that contest is going on at Lit right now.  Awful erotica of that nature ( or any nature ) would be most welcome too, for new LST3Ks.  I have a couple of donations on hand right now, but I just can’t get them flowing.

If you want to join in on riffing awful stories, drop me a line about that, too.  Having other people on board makes that so much more fun, and might be inspiring.

What it all boils down to is that I need a boost *laugh*
