First draft of Lowborn is DONE!

I just “put down my pen” after finishing the first draft of Lowborn.  Ten chapters, just shy of 54,500 words.

Now, I’ll let it settle for a day or two, and the editing process begins.

It’s probably going to take a couple of reads ( each with a day or so between ) to get through that part of the process.  Then, I’ll start my first pass edits.  Considering how much I’ve gone over the early chapters, it probably won’t take long.  Likewise for once Roust has them in hand.

I have a story as RR close to done, so I can use it as a guinea pig in the Lit story queue while I’m editing, to see how long it’s taking them to post.  That will give me a better idea on how to set up the first release.

I’ll keep everyone up to date right here as the process continues, with release information probably not too far in the future.

    Damn.
I JUST finished reading all the Danica’s World stories (re-reading, in the cases of Danica & SOTM), and now you drop another one into our laps.

    *sigh*
And I’d hoped to get some work done in the next two or three weeks. Now I’m going to be busy either anticipating it, or reading it.

*laugh* You have at least a couple of weeks. Editing 55k words takes a minute or three, even when part of it has already been through the process once ( tweaked since then due to things in later chapters )

Then there’s the matter of timing Lit’s queue, which usually tacks on a week.

        Great.
Now I’m going to be anticipating it for even LONGER.
WHY CAN I NOT ACCELERATE TIME?! WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY????????????!

(Also, thanks for writing 😀 )

I’ll be posting it at two chapters per week ( Lit willing and the crik don’t rise ) so at least it will only be five weeks of reading 😉

That should keep me entertained for exactly five weeks.
Do you honestly think I’ll be able to do ANYTHING besides read every time I see a new chapter is up?
      Because I don’t.
