Wasn’t in a writing frame of mind tonight, so I went for editing instead. Just finished my first pass edit of SOTM 17, so I’ll be sending it out to Roust this weekend.

I think I may experiment with submitting early on Tuesday this time, aiming for Thursday. The last two chapters posted on Wednesday when submitted on Monday, so we’ll see what happens. Not sure if that will be next week or the one after. Up to Roust’s schedule, how much work the first draft needs, and my own schedule.

I actually spent most of the day with a story running through my head. Long ago, I created a character for my PnP game called Suzanne, and I wrote a backstory for her. A modified version of that ( Halloween, Erotic Horror most likely ) was kicking around in my head all day long. I’ve wanted to write it for a while, but some recent things I’ve done in planning for SOTM actually sparked the best outline I’ve had for it to date.

It would be called “Flesh” and set in Danica’s world. As I said, it would probably be a Halloween contest story. Running parallel to that, I had some ideas to perhaps finish yet another Halloween story — the next in the Arts Ardane series, starring Danica, called “Barren Harvest”. I’ve been puttering with that draft for two years running now, and never finished it because there was just something off.

Think I may have it figured out, now.

With all the ideas and started files I have kicking around, I always have something to work on. Don’t know what was up with me tonight. I could have wrote plot stuff in SOTM or Lowborn. I could have written set-up in that Nobles Next Gen story. I could have written smut for Jackin’ Jill. Nothing was singing to me.

I considered working on the layout for the next set of pages in “My World” but that idea gave me the blahs as well. Likewise working on the header pics for the inside pages of “My World” Didn’t feel like mapping ( or building symbol catalogs )

At least finishing the edit for SOTM finally gave me something productive that I felt like doing tonight.

I’m going to work on getting the advertising image to put in my signature at Lit for SOTM 17 together for a few minutes, and then hit the sack. With some luck, I’ll feel like writing more tomorrow.
