Yikes! Too many days.

Didn’t realize it had been so long since I’d updated anything.  Quite frankly, one person outside the triad of ultimate ego who decided to attack my win in the Earth Day contest was bothering me more than I realized.  Those three numbskulls I roll my eyes at, but when someone with some reputability decided to, it bothered me.

Once I realized that it was actually getting under my skin, I went straight to the source and found out that the accusation was completely unfounded.  Problem solved.

Unfortunately, as soon as I started reading through what I’ve been writing lately, pretty much everything is off.  So far, the only one that I even know what is wrong with it is Lowborn *laugh*  The others I’m still musing on how to tweak them back into something I’m happy with.

As to Lowborn, the way I was writing the beginning of this chapter just didn’t feel realistic — even for fantasy.  The situation that I’d put Mind and his companions in was simply one that wasn’t anything you could realistically get out of with the resources available.  Oh, I’d written something, but it just felt contrived, and even dull.

I’m changing the flash point to something more immediate, which will result in a much faster paced scene.  It will also let me utilize a character in the scene in a way that I need to bring back to the forefront of the story, as it’s critical to the ending.

It’s always something with me, huh?  It’s just a lot harder to get over these little roadbumps than it used to be.  I don’t have my babydoll here to pick me up when I emotionally fall down any more, so I’ve got to drag my carcass up off the ground myself.

I always get there, but it certainly takes a lot longer to find my feet.

If I don’t get into that rewrite of Lowborn tonight, it will most likely be at some point tomorrow — provided work doesn’t go crazy with long hours again.
